Proposed changes include increasing inpatient psychiatric coverage from: $100 a day for up to 35 days per policy year

to

$160 a day for up to 60 days per policy year.

MediShield Life will in future also cover treatment for attempted suicide, self injury, substance abuse and alcoholism.
